For years, Bogle winemakers have sought out vines ranging in age from 60 to 80 years for our Old Vine Zinfandel. These gnarly head-trained and dry farmed pioneers produce low yields of small, concentrated clusters of fruit, producing incredible intense and flavorful wines.
Greeted with sun-ripened raspberries and freshly ground white peppercorns on the nose, this Zinfandel is saturated with flavors of red berries and cranberries. Laced with a hint of savory herb in the background, the traditional tones of juniper lead to a full and ripe finish, while 12 months of aging in two year old barrels wraps the wine in spicy oak and a touch of vanilla wafer.

The grapes for our 2014 Merlot were harvested between Sept. 7 – Oct.1, 2014, with an average Brix of 24.9. After fermenting on the skins for 6-9 days, the must was pressed and the resulting wine finished fermentation in Stainless Steel tanks. The wine then received the equivalent of approximately 6 months of aging in French Oak barrels.
Youthful bright purple hues highlight the medium ruby color of the 2014 McManis Family Vineyards Merlot. Fruit forward with pretty Blackberry aromas surround a bouquet of cream and a hint of baking spices. Juicy and concentrated, the lively mix of black fruit flavors are accompanied by the pleasant addition of a vanilla creamy texture, which has been contributed through oak aging. The wine is succulent and has a pleasing toasty finish.

About Carménère
The Carménère grape is a wine grape variety originally planted in the Médoc region of Bordeaux, France, where it was used to produce deep red wines and occasionally used for blending purposes in the same manner as Petit Verdot.
A member of the Cabernet family of grapes, the name "Carménère" originates from the French word for crimson (carmin) which refers to the brilliant crimson colour of the autumn foliage prior to leaf-fall. The grape is also known as Grande Vidure, a historic Bordeaux synonym, although current European Union regulations prohibit Chilean imports under this name into the European Union.
