Tennessee whiskey is straight whiskey produced in Tennessee. Although it has been legally defined as a bourbon whiskey in some international trade agreements, most current producers of Tennessee whiskey disclaim references to their products as "bourbon" and do not label them as such on any of their bottles or advertising materials. All current producers are required by Tennessee law to produce their whiskey in Tennessee and, with one exception, to also use a filtering step known as the Lincoln County Process prior to aging the whiskey; that aside, "Tennessee whiskey and bourbon have almost identical requirements [and] most Tennessee whiskeys meet the criteria for bourbon."
Tennessee whiskey is one of the top ten exports of Tennessee. According to the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States, as of 2013, the U.S. market for bourbon and Tennessee whiskey reached $2.4 billion, and exports of bourbon and Tennessee whiskey grew to exceed $1 billion.
Cumberland Cask Modern Expression
Distillery: Capital Distilling
Region: Nashville, Tennessee
Category: Tennessee
Distillery:
Our Whiskey is a small batch blend of 6.5 year old and 8.5 year old whiskeys. Unlike other Tennessee Whiskeys, ours is not charcoal mellowed or chill filtered. The mash-bill is a high corn mash with 70 percent corn, 25 percent rye, and 5 percent barley. The high percentage of corn gives our whiskey a sweet initial taste followed by the bold flavor of rye, and finishing with some smoke from the barley.
Modern Expression is filtered and blended to perfection, this whiskey is easy to sip or mix into a classic cocktail.

Refilling the same 4 barrels with a new batch of 6 year old whiskey, the whiskey rested for a whole Nashville summer. The summer heat caused the whiskey to expand deep into the wood, picking up the vanilla and wood characteristics of the barrel. Once batch two reached a full maturity of 6 months, we dumped the barrels and placed the whiskey into stainless tanks to allow it to mellow.
We were planning to bottle the batches separately, but something amazing happened. When the two batches were blended together, a marriage of sorts, a spark went off. The two different batches complemented each other in a perfect way, so we blended the two together and Ruby Cut was born.
Cumberland Cask Ruby Cut is a limited run of 375 six pack cases only available in middle Tn. We hope you enjoy drinking it as much as we do. Let’s raise our glasses to a true Tennessee Whiskey first…
Gentleman Jack Rare Tennessee
Distiller: Jack Daniels
Region: Lynchburg, Tennessee
Category: Tennessee
Distillery:
Just like Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey and Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel, Gentleman Jack is charcoal mellowed before going into the barrel. Gentleman Jack, however, receives an additional “blessing” when it is charcoal mellowed again after reaching maturity – making it the only whiskey in the world to be charcoal mellowed twice, giving it ultimate smoothness. Gentleman Jack is full-bodied with fruit and spices, and its finish is silky, warm, and pleasant. When you drink Gentleman Jack, do so with pride, for this is the whiskey a gentleman orders.
Nose Rich and pretty caramel and citrus aromas.
Palate Leather, tobacco, vanilla and cocoa.
Finish Silky, warm, and pleasant.

Jasper Newton “Jack” Daniel was born in 1850, and after learning about distillation from a local lay preacher and moonshine distiller as a teenager, took his inheritance from his father’s estate and officially registered his own distilling business in 1875. Despite battling state and federal prohibition in the early 20th century and ceasing operations during World War II, Jack Daniel’s soldiered on, and shipped an astonishing 11,000,000 cases of its flagship Black Label No. 7 in 2013.
Nose Jumbled charred nut and burnt sugar aromas have a muddy edge.
Palate A soft, thin entry to an off-dry medium body with caramel corn and white pepper notes.
Finish Finishes with a hot, burning ember, dirt, tin foil, and caramel water fade.
